Once in a blue moon I come across someone’s work which so excites me that I feel the need to contact them to tell them how profoundly their images have affected me.
So it was with Mike Murphy, when I first saw his photos a couple of years ago. He had the good grace to reply and I’m happy to say we have stayed in touch.
I truly believe that if David Hockney had an iPhone in the early 1980’s, when he was producing ‘joiners’, his output would have been very similar to what Mike is achieving now.
When I recommended to Kozu books that they take a look at Mike’s work, I wrote, "I think this photographer is producing the most interesting photos taken by anyone, anywhere”.
I stand by this statement and hope that you too are moved by this stunning selection of images.
